This one inch cube of heat shield was flown aboard Aurora 7 on May 24,1962. Mounted on a 4½"x3¾" light colored wood base with a 1"x3" brass plaque reading: 'Heat Shield from 'Aurora Seven' Mercury Atlas 7 - M. Scott Carpenter May 24,1962'. A large size piece of heat shield for one of these presentations. Very fine.
