Typed letter signed on Official NASA JSC stationery with a three paragraph account of how Schirra's mission was the first to turn: 'off all automatic sequences-including any capability on the ground stations to control any retro-fire and bring me down.' This gives the history of the first space capsule controlled by an astronaut and not by ground control. Signed in blue ball-point pen at lower right. Very fine.
