Russian aviator who shot down seven German aircraft during WW I, who later moved to the United States where he became a major advocate for the strategic use of aircraft in military circles. He and his aviatrix wife Evelyn Oliphant were important members of 1920s-40s society. He founded Seversky Aircraft Corp (later to become Republic Aviation). Black & white framed without glass to 8"x10" original photograph inscribed: To Cliff (probably Clifford Henderson) with best wishes and kindest personal regards Sasha de Seversky & dated. Excellent condition. Rare.
