Berkut (Golden Eagle) spacesuit. Authentic, unflown pressure suit consisting of a white metal helmet painted with red lettering with hinged visor & hinged interior sun shade, white ribbed twill nylon oversuit with red trim & dual front zipper closures, applied four-sided gold bordered brocaded patch depicting a rocket rising from Earth, lettered 'CCCP', ribbed-knit collar & cuffs, Velcro flap on right sleeve may be lifted to display pressure gauge, mirror sewn to left sleeve, detachable white gloves with brown-rough-surfaced palms, 'walking-out' gray leather boots, undersuit of gray nylon parachute cloth, trussed sleeves & legs, mock-up plastic umbilical faces with valves, cables & hoses for life support & communication. ALSO white painted wood backpack with grey harness normally holding three oxygen canisters, with pressure gauge. A communication helmet on head mannequin included as well. This is the first of this type extra vehicular activity (EVA) spacesuit offered since 1993 and is the same kind of suit that was used by Alexei Leonov for the first spacewalk on March 18, 1965. This particular suit was used in testing & training for the first EVAs. It was assembled for exhibition in the U.S. at Macy's (NYC) & Mall of America in 2000 and 1996 respectively. Only eight Berkut suits were made. A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the museum or collector to acquire this rare suit.
