Sokol (Falcon) KV-2 spacesuit with patches of STS-76/SIMM-03) Mar. 22,1996-Sep. 1996. These are identical to patches used by Shannon Lucid, & were applied to suit for exhibition. This spacesuit was not used by astronaut Lucid in her training in Star City for her mission to the MIR spacestation. This Sokol KV-2 pressure suit is made of white nylon canvas with royal blue trim, attached pressurized hood with hinged plastic visor securing to blue anodized aluminum clavicle flange, trussed sleeves with adjustable articulating cables in upper arm & webbed belt lashings, pressure gauge on left sleeve covered by protective gasket, detachable gloves with SGM (Gennadi Strekalov) initials, mirror on elasticized right wristband, double-V-front zip closure, lace-up crotch with triangular pocket, anodized aluminum umbilical interfaces on body for electrical, air & coolant lines with attached cables & hoses, pressure equalization valve on chest, support sling wrapping from chest to back by means of webbed belts & metal clips, adjustable, metrically calibrated webbed straps attached to metal rings on side seams & along crotch, pleated knees, two utility pockets on each leg, attached soled feet, rubberized cloth lining; applique patches of Russian standard (left sleeve), U.S. standard (right sleeve), MW logo (mid-chest), NASA logo (right chest), MIR Shuttle NASA GKL bilingual logo, bilingual cloth name label. Some soiling & discoloration at joints. Accompanied by black leather radio communications headset with mesh skullcap. This spacesuit was exhibited at Macy's (NYC) in 2000 and at Mall of America (Minnesota) in 1996.
