1976 LUNA 24 PIECE, FLOWN TO SURFACE OF MOON

Not only the United States had successful missions to the Moon. The Soviet Union sent an unmanned vehicle to the Moon on August 18, 1976. This vehicle returned to earth with 170 grams of scooped up lunar surface material. This lot has a 3/8"x¼" piece of the Luna 24 vehicle attached to a 3½"x2½" white card in a plastic sleeve. There is a photocopy of a Russian letter of authenticity from Cosmonaut Valery Rozhdestvensky. Card signed by Paul Hartunian. Rare.
