An adorable Chimu-Inca monkey bottle from Peru, 1350-1500 AD. This burnished blackware vessel is 7" long and depicts a monkey with nicely detailed facial features. His arms and legs are molded in relief along the sides of the chamber and the large tail acts as a handle. In excellent condition with good mineral deposits.
