1962 - 1975, 9 NASA Books on Space Medicine/ Biology/ Physiology An incredible lot published by or for NASA on space life systems. 1962, "Space Physiology and Medicine, NASA SP-447, 324pp, hard cover. An early review of knowledge of space physiology and medicine. Very good condition. A three volume set 1978, "Anthropometric Source Book, NASA 1024", all three volumes hard bound. Volume I, approx. 500pp, contains information on the strength, reach, range of joint motion and mass distribution properties of the human body which are essential to the design of clothing, equipment and workspaces for use in space vehicles. An incredible study. Volume II, 422pp, summarizes the results from anthropometric surveys of 61 military and civilian populations from the US, Europe and Asia. It is possibly the most comprehensive source of summarized body-size data available in 1975. Volume III, 124pp, lists 236 annotated references related to the field of anthropometry. All three volumes are in very good condition. 1968, "Compendium of Human Responses to the Aerospace Environment, NASA CR-1205 (I&II)". Two volume set, each volume approximately 500 pages, soft cover, slight edge faults. A comprehensive study culminating from a review of Apollo documents, extracting the information on the human factors, providing a source reference document for future manned missions. Topic include studies of microwave radiation, ionizing radiation, light, inert gas, pressure, nutrition, and more. Both of these volumes are in good condition with edge faults and toning. 1975, "Foundations of Space Biology and Medicine, 3 Volumes". All three volumes are hard bound, totaling 756pp, dust jackets. These three volumes are the result of sharing information between NASA and the USSR Academy of Sciences. Volume I focuses on space as a habitat, Volume II the ecological and physiological bases of space biology, and Volume III concentrates on space medicine and bio-technology. This lot is an incredible resource, and especially valuable as the multi-volume sets are complete. Rare.
