18kt Gold Omega Constellation Megaquartz "Apollo-Soyuz" Wristwatch This watch is described by Omega as follows: "An 18kt solid gold case of basic reference BA 196.0016, while the whole watch bears the complete reference "BA 396.0811". Quartz day-date movement of caliber 1310 - solid gold dial, hand riveted sold gold indexes, tonneau shaped water-resistant case, polished bezel-case back fixed with four screws - incrusted Observatory medallion-tempered mineral glass - integrated 18kt solid gold bracelet with satin-finish links - basic watch reference launched in 1973 - Special and limited Edition, numbered 1 to 6 handed over to some VIP people having contributed to the success of the American-soviet rendezvous Apollo-Soyuz in July 15, 1975: Tom Stafford, Donald Slayton, Vance Brand, Alexei Leonov & Valery Kubasov, (No. 6 was given to the R $ D Director, Dr. Hans Widmer", Estimated today's insurance value - US$10,000" This watch is engraved on the reverse: "Astronaut Donald K. Slayton, First International Space Flight, July 15, 1975 and the number"3". The watch is in working order and was a favorite of Deke Slayton's. Both the case, band and crystal are in need of cleaning/polishing, otherwise the watch is in exceptional condition.
