Blue Shuttle Flight Suit

Blue Flight Suit worn by Pete Stanley, Chief of the NASA Photographic Section, who flew in the T-38 chase planes during the landing of various Shuttle Challenger flights from KSC. This flight suit has a small US flag on the left shoulder, a NASA "Pete Stanley JSC-Houston" Velcro nametag on the chest and the RARE (first issue) "Shuttle Chase Team" patch on the right shoulder. Only 250 Shuttle Chase Team patches were originally made for the Team members. It was noticed that the word "Shuttle" was sewn to the left of top center on the original patches. The patches were re-issued in the correct format and distributed widely. This flight suit is extensively repaired and mended in keeping with the long history of its use. Flown in Space? YES
