This diamond patterned carved vase measures 7.375 inches tall by 5.25 inches in diameter. This vase was purchased directly from the artist for the Vasefinder Collection and is signed Colgren as shown. Per Vasefinder: Monte Colgren was born and reared in Washington State. Monte received his high school diploma from Lewis and Clark High School, Spokane, Washington in 1947. He received his BA from the University of Washington, where he was a student of Paul Bonifas and and Everett DuPen. He completed his advanced art studies or MA at Mills College in Oakland, California, where he was a student of Antonio Prieto. Over his life, he worked in several mediums such as painting, printmaking, enamels and pottery. Monte exhibited at the Syracuse Ceramic Nationals in 1954 when he was residing in Oakland, California.

This vase has no post-factory damage, such as chips, cracks, hairlines or repairs.
