Owner's signature erased in front, leaving "San Francisco, 1939." Articles include: Hydraulic Mining in California; Father Junipero and His Work (2 parts); The Treasures of the Yosemite; Fremont in the Conquest of California; The Discovery of Gold in California; Pioneer Days in San Francisco; Vigilance Committees; Across the Plains in the Donner Party; A Miner's Sunday in Coloma, etc., etc.
