Scarce Albert Pettengill No3 Vertical Trout Reel. Typically found as a side mount reel, this No.3 version of Pettengill's reel is set as a vertical mount reel. Pettengill, in his patent, indicated his desire to provide a reel that could be used as both a side mount and vertical mount reel by means of a detachable foot. Marked "Pat.Pdg" on the nickel plated frame, this reel has a No.3 marked foot and original wooden grasp. A bit stiff and in need of a good cleaning, in about good+ condition.
