walnut with yellow pine secondary, five dovetailed drawers over original frame with arched skirt and cabriole legs with trifid feet, attributed to Rowan County, North Carolina, early 19th century, 48 x 40 x 19-1/2 in. Appears to be in excellent overall condition, slightly loose joints in frame, old refinishing with rich reddish-brown color, brasses replaced, original locks, original backboards with some later nailing, scattered stains and abrasions, chip and minor loss to back of top board.
