gilt silver plate, openwork sides with scene depicting "America" personified as an Indian princess in repose, set includes kettle, two cups and waste with Japanese style decoration, birds, bamboo and berries, kettle spout, handle and finial with children playing, marks for Simpson, Hall, Miller & Co., 1866-1898, Wallingford, Connecticut, inscribed "John J. Lehnen/from his/Windsor Theater/Associates/Dec. 25, 1887", 22-1/2 x 17 x 10-1/2 in. Good condition with minor wear and distress to gilding. Provenance: The Estate of the Late Thelma H. Osborne, Wilkesboro, North Carolina Windsor Theater was located in Chicago, Illinois, and owned by John J. Lehnen in the late 19th century.
