comprising settee, two armchairs and two side chairs, each in fine mahogany and set with ormolu mounts, each in fine crimson and gold silk upholstery, armchairs and settee set with heavy full figure seated sphinx arm supports in gilt bronze, all pieces with winged lion bronze mounts on legs with paw feet, French, probably second half 19th century, settee 43 x 57 x 28 in., armchairs 40-1/2 x 27 x 28 in., side chairs 37-1/2 x 22-1/2 x 24 in. Surface refinished and with some sun fading, ormolu mounts regilt, one arm with minor break and repair at joint with rear stile, mounts regilt with scattered corrosion, some regluing to joints, other minor repairs, light wear and fading to upholstery.
