carved and gilt wood and composition with central pierced crest, two [putti] with central urn and flowers, vine and floral carved frame with outset corners, probably Italian, 19th century, 48 x 31 x 4-1/2 in. Mirror plate and back replaced, later metal braces to joints at back, surface restoration including regilding, scattered retouch, other minor losses and damages to ornament. Provenance: The Estate of the Late Shirley Freeman, Greenville, South Carolina
