Early 20th Century. One side stained dark, the other left natural. French: king as Napoleon, queen as Josephine, bishops as drummers, knights as horses, rooks as Eiffel Tower and pawns as soldier busts. Austrians: king as man holding flag, queen as female, bishops as man drumming, knights as horses, rooks as towers and pawns as busts of men. (500/750)
