Early 20th Century. Height of king 4 1/4". Height of pawn 2 1/4".
Provenance: Frank Marshall, U.S. Chess Champion 1909-1936.
Accompanied by letter from Marshall W. Murray dated June 11, 1990 verifying the set belonged to Frank Marshall, his great great uncle. Carrie Marshall, Frank's wife, presented set on graduating from high school to Marshall W. Murray. Lot also comes with four instructional booklets, three by Marshall. (Cond: one white pawn cracked, one black pawn chipped, black king's cross damaged, base chipped) (3000/4000)
