Description
This bowl measures 3.25 inches by 7.875 inches. It is signed with lower-case bunker as well as a alpha-numeric device. Per Vasefinder, Eugene F. Bunker Jr. (1928-1987) was born in Bozeman, Montana. He received his undergraduate degree from Montana State University and advanced degree from Mills College, where he was a student of Antonio Prieto. Before serving as Resident Director of the Archie Bray from 1957-1958, he replaced F.Carlton Ball as the head of the ceramics department at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. He had become head of the art department at UNC Asheville and had taught at Stetson University and Asheville Biltmore College prior. Eugene exhibited at the Syracuse Ceramic Nationals in the years of 1954 and 1960.
Condition
There is no post-factory damage, such as chips, cracks, hairlines or repairs. This bowl has a nice ring when tapped.
