Early American Needlework Picture with painted background depicting Mount Vernon. Executed circa 1835 by Hannah M. Doughty with full provenance having descended in the family. Under glass. Inscribed on glass. Original glass, more recent frame. Remains in remarkably good condition with only minor issues. The piece exhibits truly fine artistry and incredible detail including three dimensional columns and realist shading. Overall 28 1/2" x 33" Sight Size 22" x 26".
