They won a dramatic League Title race narrowly overcoming Leeds United by a single point thanks to an 88th minute Ray Kennedy goal at arch rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the last game of the season. Five days later Arsenal came from behind to beat Liverpool 2-1 in extra time of the F.A. Cup final. appendix Peter Storey (Arsenal and England) Lot 196 to 198 Peter Edwin Storey was born at Farnham in Surrey on 7th September 1945. He was apprenticed at Arsenal in 1961 turning professional in September 1962, and spent the following 15 years at Highbury. As a regular starter Storey won the double in 1971 and the Fairs Cup in 1970. He was also a finalist in the 1972 F.A. Cup and the 1968 & 1969 League Cups. The right-back was renowned for his uncompromising play and tackle. He played internationally for England at schoolboy and full senior level, where he won a total of 19 caps between 1971 and 1973 and also represented the Football League on two occasions. Peter Storey ended his career after a brief spell with Fulham in 1977.
