A pair of match-worn John Barnes football boots, Pantofola d'oro football boots both signed by Barnes, sold together with a signed manuscript letter from John Barnes on Grand Hotel, Torquay, notepaper dated 18th May 1997 (3) These boots were purchased at a Testimonial auction to raise money for Torquay United defender Wes Saunders on 18th May 1997. John Barnes played in Saunders's Testimonial match earlier in the day. The script in his letter reads 'I wore these boots for the last 3 months of the 1996-97 season.'
