Mike White was one of six artists who drew the famous Roy of the Rovers comic strip over a 40 year period. White was employed between August 1986 and October 1992. The artist gave Roy a far more muscular, powerful look than his predecessors. Collectors of football philately will be familiar with Mike White's work as he designed one of the four Royal Mail Millennium postage stamps, namely the 26p first class stamp that featured Bobby Moore holding aloft the Jules Rimet Trophy in 1966.
