Late 18th or early 19th century, the wool base decorated in crewel and gros point needlework with landscapes, flowers, and fruit, with four document compartments decorated with castle scenes. 28" x 20 1/2". Condition: losses to top of holder, some light wear and imperfections throughout, stain backing threadbare and with some losses, overall aesthetic is still excellent. Provenance: From a prominent Bratenahl estate.
