France, ca. 1880, pale pressed bisque socket head incised 4H, deep blue paperweight eyes, finely painted brows and lashes with mauve eye shadow, closed mouth, pierced ears, long tailed blonde mohair wig with cork pate, original straight wrist French eight-ball composition and wood body with original spring head attachment. Wearing antique French pink satin dress with net overlay and matching French bonnet with marked French leather shoes. 24" H. Excellent (some minor wear on hands and joints, shoes have varying ankle straps). This sublime and elusive Bebe is a prime example of French doll making at its pinnacle.
