France, ca. 1900, molded paper mache flocked monkey head with glass eyes, opening mouth on a carton body with paper mache hands, wood telephone receiver on a gilded gesso covered wood base containing brass musical clockwork mechanism. Wearing original satin costume and red velvet hat. Movements include head, mouth and one arm. 27" H. Very Good (head needs adjustment)
