Pochoir on wove paper tipped to wove paper, frontispiece for a poem by Georges Hugnet entitled Marcel Duchamp, 1939, eight attached sheets including the cover, I. 1 7#8541; x 2 ⁹/₁₆ in. (4.1 x 6.5 cm).; overall: 3 7#8542; x 5 ¾ in. (9.8 x 14.6 cm). From the unnumbered edition of 200 (there were also 20 on Montval laid paper and six on handmade Japan paper), published by Hugnet, Paris, very pale time staining, otherwise in good condition.

This stencil was used to add the mustache and goatee to Leonardo's Mona Lisa for the reproduction of L.H.O.O.Q. (S. 369), incorporated in The Box in a Valise (S. 484). See figure.
