Lantern Projector Slides of Prominent 18th Century Americans

Boxed Group of Lantern Projector Slides of Prominent 18th Century Americans, Lot of 15, Produced by Hammer Dry Plate Co., St. Louis, MO, Choice Extremely Fine.
All 3.25" x 4", each is an engraving, including a fine engraving of uniformed George Washington. Includes 14 engravings and one hand-colored transparency of family, in their original box: "Hammer Lantern Plates" with a sleeve full of No. 6 Eastman Lantern Slide Mats. Most engravings are not attached to the cover glass slides, nor are they identified by name, but they appear to be the same images produced by Charles Balthazar Julien Fevret de Saint-Memin (1770-1852). Ref: Ellen G. Miles: "Saint-Memin and the Neoclassical Profile Portrait in America" (1994). (15+ items)
