translated by William Adlington, number 12 of 450 copies, printed in turquoise and black, this copy extra-illustrated by John Buckland Wright with 65 erotic original drawings in pen, chinese ink and wash, many full-page, and some double-page spreads at beginning of individual books, title-vignette highlighted in turquoise ink, bound in maroon morocco, by Sangorski & Sutcliffe, t.e.g., others uncut, cloth slip-case edged in morocco, [Chanticleer 15], 4to, Golden Cockerel Press, 1923.***A unique copy of this work. The artist has added a note at the end in ink that he embellished the work with seventy four (actually 65) drawings, "made from nineteen forty one to nineteen forty seven by J.B.W." The drawings, which are of a distinctly erotic nature, display Buckland Wright's skill and sense of humour. .
