Gill (Eric) Wood-Engravings...,
number 50 of 150 copies, title and one plate printed in red and black, 32 woodcut or wood-engraved plates by Eric Gill, original cream linen, uncut, grey-brown dust-jacket, slightly rubbed and with small hole to spine but otherwise a very good copy, [Taylor A129], 4to, Ditchling, S. Dominic's Press, 1924.***Scarce Gill item, particularly in the dust-jacket; compiled and printed by Douglas Pepler. Gill moved away from Ditchling, to Capel-y-Ffin in Wales, and wanted to take the engraved woodblocks with him as his personal property. Pepler claimed they belonged to the St.Dominic's lay order and press and so kept them, resulting in Gill's refusal to speak to Pepler again..
