superb engraved plates and illustrations surrounding text in relief etching by William Blake, some margins trimmed and occasional very light offsetting, but generally in clean, fresh condition, printed explanation leaf present (often lacking), 4 small repaired marginal tears to explanation leaf, watermark "J.Whatman 1794", bookplates on front paste-down, handsomely bound in contemporary straight-grained red morocco, gilt, g.e., spine gilt in compartments, extremities slightly rubbed, [Bentley 515], folio, Printed by R.Noble for R.Edwards, 1797.

***A very good copy of this beautiful work. Originally planned as four volumes, only one was completed owing to the war with France. .
