first edition, signed dedication from the author on front free endpaper, 3pp. advertisements, bookplate of Richard R.Deupree on front pastedown, original patterned cloth, spine sunned, dust-jacket, light surface soiling, creased down spine, slightly worn at corner tips and spine ends, small tears with slight loss near foot of fore-edge of upper panel, 8vo, 1934.

***A very good example of the author's fourth novel, scarce in dust-jacket, let alone signed. The inscription reads "Jack / with best wishes / Evelyn", Jack being John "Jack" Rule, English adventure and bon vivant, whose sister-in-law Martha Rule married Richard Deupree (President of Procter & Gamble 1930-1948)..
