Einstein (Albert, theoretical physicist, 1879-1955) Autograph manuscript, in German, constituting the penultimate leaf of the paper "Einheitliche Theorie von Gravitation und Elektrizitat" 1 page, some very slight marginal fraying, recent red cloth chemise, red cloth box, 4to, [no place, 1931].***A significant manuscript fragment recalling Einstein's attempt at formulating a unified field theory. Written in collaboration with Walther Mayer, and published in the "Sitzungsberichte der preussischen Akademie der Wissenschaften, physikalische-mathematische Klasse" (an offprint of the published version, dated "Berlin 1931", is included with the lot). Einstein submitted the paper to the Academy at its session of 22 October 1931: it represented an attempt at a unified field theory based on the ideas of Theodor Kaluza. .
