Contriued into three Bookes: The first of Poets and Poesie, the second of Proportion, the third of Ornament, device on title, title slightly stained and soiled, lacks first and last blanks, AB4 portrait of Elizabeth I, N2 most part of text cut away leaving 11 lines and headline at head, insert chi 1-4 missing, X4 lower corner torn and repaired slightly affecting a few words, L3-O2 stained, all ff. margins a little browned, 17th century ink notes on front free endpaper, ink signatures of William Elliot at end, remains of a medieval manuscript used as part of binding, contemporary blind stamped calf, ornaments, slightly rubbed, scratched designs on covers, [Pforzheimer 12; STC 20519], sm. 4to, Printed by Richard Field, dwelling in the black-Friers, neere Ludgate, 1589.***Variant STC 20519.5 p. 206 calls for first complete paragraph: "And thus againe..." which this copy complies with, and p. 258 to be misnumbered 25 which this copy does not agree with..
