second folio edition, lacks A1-*3, A1-4, t3 & 4, 3c5-3d4, *4 ("Upon the Lines and Life of the Famous Scenicke Poet, Master W. Shakespeare" by Hugh Holland) present but extensively creased, browned and torn with little textual loss (but with a third of the leaf torn away) and laid down on a f. with "A Catalogue..." in facsimile on verso, some missing preliminaries and all text at end supplied in a variety of facsimile leaves (including title with a good facsimile of Shakespeare's portrait by Droeshout), L2, y4 & 5, 2f2 tears affecting text, Q3 & 4 half of outer margins torn away with slight loss of words to some lines, all lower corners frayed and from 3a3 to end causing loss of catchwords and from 3c2 to end (i.e. 4 remaining last ff.) outer margins frayed with loss of text at head and tail and border, some water-staining on many ff., trimmed, many affecting printed borders, ink signature of Edward Vaughan on *4, a few other ink marks, browned, new endpapers, modern antique style calf, gilt, upper cover slightly stained, gilt spine, housed in a calf-backed drop-back box, [STC 22274; Pforzheimer 906, issue not determined; Gregg III, p.113], folio, by Tho.Cotes, for Robert Allot, 1632; sold not subject to return.
