Van Gogh (Vincent). - [Exhibition Catalogue] Tentoonstelling der Nagelaten Werken van Vincent Van Gogh,
first edition, 12pp., fine original pictorial wrappers by Richard Roland Holst skilfully repaired at edges, small oblong 4to, Amsterdam, Kunstzaal Panorama, December 1892.***Extremely rare copy of the first major exhibition catalogue of Van Gogh's works which took place in Amsterdam in December 1892, curated by Richard Roland Holst who designed the stunning symbolist cover of the catalogue depicting a wilting but haloed sunflower. 107 works are listed, but infuriatingly, by number, place and date only, not by title. The first retrospective exhibition had taken place in The Hague Kunstkring between 17 May and 6 June of the same year, but no catalogue had been printed to accompnay it..
