second edition, engraved title with architectural border, portrait and 44 plates (including 1 large folding plan), most folding, mostly marginal staining or light foxing, some other marking, [Cockle 825], Venice, Francesco Baba, 1654 bound with Sardi (Pietro) L'Artiglieria, engraved title, 9 folding plates and illustrations, foxed, some fraying to plate edges, Venice, Giovanni Guerrigli for the author, 1621, together 2 works in 1 vol., contemporary vellum over boards, brass clasps, 7 corner-pieces (lacking lower right to upper cover), and 2 strapwork centre-pieces, repaired split to foot of upper jont, stained, small folio.

***Floriana Lines are a line of fortification outside Valletta, capital city of Malta. They were built in the 17th Century during the reign of Grand Master Antoine de Paule. He had brought over Italian military engineer Floriani for advice on the improvement of the defences of Malta. .
