Felix Hodorowitsch (1840 St. Petersburg-1912)
Quadratische, rot geaderte Marmorplinthe, an den Kanten best. Auf runder Plinthe stehendes Mädchen mit zwei Wasserkannen. Frontal auf der Plinthe signiert "Chodorowitsch" in Kyrillisch. H. 33 cm (24474002)
In Polen geboren wurde er von der Moskauer Schule für Malerei, Skulptur und Architektur verwiesen, weil er den polnischen Aufstand unterstützte. Daraufhin wurde er nach Tiflis in Georgien geschickt und diente in der dortigen Armee. Er lebte und arbeitete in Tiflis eine lange Zeit und wurde Teil der Künstlergemeinschaft. Zu seinem Ouevre zählen in erster Linie großformatige Arbeiten und führte öffentliche Denkmäler aus. Er fertigte beispielsweise eine große Statue von Puschkin.
A bronze figure of a young maiden carrying two ewers. On a marble base, minor chipped. Signed on the round bronze base "KHODOROVICH" in Cyrillic. Feliks Khodorovich (Russian 1840-1912). 33 cm high. #Born in Belarus he was expelled from the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture, and Architecture in 1863 for his support of the Polish uprising. He was sent to serve in the army in Tbilisi in Georgia. He was working over there for a long time during the second half of 19th century. He mostly made big statues like a big statue of the Russian poet Pushkin and won several major commissions for public monuments.
