A CRYSTOLEUM* PAINTING OF A YOUNG WOMAN in Victorian costume holding large vase of flowers. After the painting by Conrad Kiesel (German, 1846-1921). 22 1/4 in. by 16 1/2 in. c. 1905-1910. In Victorian oak and gesso frame. N.B *Also known as a chromo-photograph, an albumen print pasted on the inside curve of concave glass with only the emulsion remaining on the back of the glass. Colored with a fine brush, the two pieces of glass were bound together with color also applied to the back of the second glass to sandwich the colored photo.
