EARLY THUMBPRINT OPEN COMPOTE, colorless, rim with 32 even scallops, double step hollow stem with 12 flutes, circular foot with 24 scallops, single band of 24 thumbprints under foot, wafer construction. Probably Bakewell, Pears & Co. Third quarter 19th century. 9 3/4" h, 11 1/8" dia rim, 6 7/8" dia foot.
Provenance: From a Pittsburgh area collection.

Undamaged except for several manufacturing chips to snap ring under base, very light wear to base of bowl
