EXCELSIOR VARIANT FOOTED TUMBLER, deep fiery opalescent, short hexagonal stem, rough pontil mark. This variant with the large vertical diamonds is the pattern which Metz named Excelsior with Double Ring Stem in the goblet form. Probably Pittsburgh. Third quarter 19th century. 4 1/2" h, 3 3/8" dia rim, 2 7/8" dia foot.
