LEE/ROSE NO. 135-A CUP PLATE, slightly cloudy blue, 36 bull's-eye scallops. Very or extremely rare. Midwestern, probably Pittsburgh. Second quarter 19th century. 3 3/8" dia.
Reference: Elsholz, lot #220, this being the actual example.
McKearin Am. Glass, pl. 184, fig. 63, "100 Best" colored.
Spillman, fig. 366 and color pl. 6.
Provenance: Collection of the late Anne and Leon Powell. Richard A. Bourne Co., Inc., 11/9/86, lot #220, $400. Ex-collection: William J. Elsholz. R. D. Skyles, West Richfield, OH, 8/2/56.
Note: The Elsholz catalog notes that this very plate was included in the 1954 Corning exhibit, No. 557. The Corning catalog recorded that the exhibited plate was from the Marble collection. In any event, it was included by Rose in his new "100 Best" colored list where he noted "Extremely rare in color.".

Condition report

Well above average with all bull's eyes intact, one scallop tipped and several others lightly tipped, one top-rim flake and other very light flakes/mold roughness
