Cut from a tree stump at the root, this large dipper measures 17" L x 4" H with the bowl measuring 7-1/2" Diameter.
Condition reportShrinkage fracture on the front edge, early copper wire applied for support, some previous bug infestation with small worm holes, article is extremely worn from heavy use, interior bottom shows the center of tree rings with some shrinkage and fracturing, finish appears to have been revarnished, possibly early 20th C., no other major damage found.
