silkscreen printed in colors 1965, signed in pencil, numbered 160/200, a pristine impression of this work, the colors bright and fresh, published by Original Editions New York, as included in the portfolio 11 Pop Artists Volume III, on wove paper, the full sheet, in fine, fresh condition, sheet 956 x 701mm.

***Sweet Dreams Baby! is one of Lichtenstein's earliest, and arguably is amongst his most important prints. He regarded the three works he produced for the 11 Pop Artists portfolios as his first "True Pop Art Prints" (see. Corlett page.21) The other two works being Moonscape (printed on Rowlux) and Reverie . The present impression of Sweet Dreams Baby!, is one of the finest examples extant. Having never been framed, the colors which have a tendency to fade in sunlight, are as strong and fresh as when printed. Of particular note is the predominant yellow, so often seen faded to a mustard tone, the present impression is still it's original bright canary yellow. By its very nature the delicate surface of a silkscreen is prone to scuffing, however, this impression is in exceptional condition with no surface scuffing visible. It is possibly the finest example of this important, early print to have come to auction in recent years. .
