Condition/Details: This is a very rare opportunity to purchase a set of individually autographed books from the Harry Potter Series that includes solid provenance. This boxed set was originally published by Raincoast, the Canadian publisher of the Harry Potter Books. It includes first and early Canadian editions of the novels. Each volume bears a tipped-in bookplate bearing the title of the book, the publisher name Bloomsbury (the U.K. publisher) and a printed date, along with the author's bold signature in blue ballpoint pen. This special set was provided by Raincoast for a prize drawing sponsored by Books for Everybody (Toronto, ON) in 2005. The letter that was sent from Books for Everybody congratulating the chosen winner and describing the set is included in this auction in its original envelope. The boxed set is in remarkable condition -- nearly mint with only trace signs of wear. The books are solidly bound with pristine, unread pages, the box is completely intact and undamaged, and the bookplates are virtually untouched aside from by the hand of the author.
