first edition, engraved title with architectural border, trimmed (torn with small amount of loss and with repair to verso), engraved vignettes of Christian & Turkish soldiers & a battle scene by Laurence Johnson, numerous woodcut head- & tail-pieces and initials throughout, lacks endpapers, the last 2 leaves (table & errata) supplied in facsimile, occasional light staining and finger-soiling, a few marginal tears, some with loss (not affecting text), a few closed tears affecting text, 3Z2 tear across page, resulting in detached section (loosely inserted), 3M3 lower corner torn away with some loss of text, early ink marginalia, Porkington Library label on front paste-down, contemporary calf, a little rubbed, folio, Adam Islip, 1603.
