Colonial Notes Printed by B. Franklin
Lion Vignetted Benjamin Franklin Printed Delaware Note
Delaware. June 1, 1759. Twenty Shillings. Choice Fine.
This Delaware issue was "Printed by B. FRANKLIN," as so boldly announced in print on the reverse. Also on that side is a "nature leaf" impression, which was an invention of Ben Franklin's used as an anti-counterfeiting device, as well as an outstanding vignette of a Royal British Lion. There is a typical heavy centerfold which has some deft sealed edge splits and conservation. The signatures are well worn and only partially clear, with most all of the text clear but for at the fold. The reverse is particularly bold and attractive.
