September 17, 1856, Benjamin Franklin, Commemorative Ribbon of Franklin's Birthday of January 17, 1706 with the Dedication of His Statue in Boston this date, Extremely Fine.
Banner titled: "BOARD OF TRADE. - September 17, 1856". Unlisted in Threads of History, Boston, measuring 7" x 3" with black print on pink silk. There is a simple oval portrait of Benjamin Franklin at center with a Franklin style maxim printed below reading: "Drive thy Business, let not that drive thee." There are some minor light stains and the overall condition is quite nice and attractive. Ben Franklin's official statue was dedicated in Boston on this date in 1856.
