Annual Greeting of the Carriers to the Patrons of "The Press"
c. 1861, Newspaper Carrier Lithograph Print, Meichel & Plumly, Fine.
The 8.25" x 10.75" print has been framed in an original period 11.25" x 14" frame. Captioned the "Annual Greeting of the Carriers to the Patrons of "The Press," the print is of Lincoln and his Cabinet and features a nice typographic border. An interesting New Year's greeting with a banner above the Cabinet members amidst flags and an eagle reading, "But if this Country cannot be saved without giving up that principle,-I was about to say, 'I would rather be assassinated on this spot that to surrender it.'" The print has some normal signs of aging and wear.
